The fortress was raised in IV Century as a watch fortification, controlling the road in the River Valley of Malki Lom River.
For now archaeologist revealed the south wall and two inner rooms of the fortress.
The finds- coins and pottery- give a reason to claim the fortress had survived after the big Huns and Goths invasions in the V century, but as an already fortified settlement of agriculture population.
Some objects, especially ceramic pottery and arrow gads shows life here proceeded through the period of Second Bulgarian kingdom.

Zheravna is a village in central eastern Bulgaria, part of Kotel municipality, Sliven Province. The village, set in a small valley at the southern foot of the eastern Balkan Mountains, is an architectural reserve of national importance consisting of more than 200 wooden houses from the Bulgarian National Revival period (18th and 19th century), and a quickly developing tourist destination. The village emerged between the 12th and 14th century and grew to become a cultural and handicraft centre in the 18th century. As the local population came to wealth, the architectural appearance of the village was shaped by one- or two-storey wooden houses surrounded by stone walls and cobblestone alleys.

Popular sights in the village include the museum house of the merchant Rusi Chorbadzhi from the early 18th century, the Church of St Nicholas inaugurated in 1834 and housing icons from the 18th and early 19th century, the museum house of the noted writer Yordan Yovkov born in 1880, the art gallery occupying the old class school and the museum house of the educator Sava Filaterov.

As of September 2005 the village has a population of 460 and the mayor is Lachezar Germanov. Zheravna lies at 42°50 N, 26°28 E, at 579 m above sea level.

The Pavel Banya balneological resort stands at 390 m altitude and lies in the magnificent Rose Valley. Its population is about 3100 people and is 21 km to the west of Kazanlak, 40 km to the east of Karlovo, 85 km northeast of Plovdiv and 185 km east of Sofia.

The remains of a Roman bath and an old Christian church testify that the water of the thermal springs has been used since Roman times.

Today Pavel Banya is a balneological resort. The mineral water springs out of 7 artificial wells with 50 – 61 degrees centigrade of temperature. It is clear and without colour and smell, with excellent gustatory properties. They have high fluorine concentration. Good results have been reported on the treatment of locomotory and peripheral nervous system diseases, etc.

Local people are mainly engaged in the production and processing of ethereal- oil bearing cultures.

Several hotels and a balneosanatorium have been built up in the health resort.

Pancharevo village is only 15 km away from the center of Sofia. On the one side it borders the Bistritsa village, and on the other – the Lozen Mountain. Almost the whole village is located on the south side of the main road for Samokov, which is the only road connection of the capital with Pancharevo. One of the advantages of this semi-mountainous region is the beautiful natural environment. Another strong attraction is the climate and the proximity of the Pancharevo Lake.
Pancharevo is considered one of the most attractive and eye-catching spots around Sofia. The permanent population of the village is a little over 2000. But actually the number of residents is at least 2-3 times bigger.According to the new urban plan of Sofia, gradually Pancharevo will become a suburb of Sofia with an urbanized recreation zone and low-storey construction. There is a very old mineral spring and a bath in the village.
There is one state primary school and one private – Pier de Cuberten Professional Foreign Language Secondary School in the building of Videlina national library. This is also the location of the national sports base of the Youth and Sports State Agency.
Pancharevo village is an independent administrative unit.
The transport connections with Pancharevo are mainly through bus lines on the Samokovsko Shosse Blvd.

The village of Govedartsi stands 1100 meters above sea level and is situated in the front part of the National park “Rila Mountain”, with a population of about 1900 people. It is located 66 km in south of Sofia, 26 km to the west of Borovets and 12 km southwest of Samokov.

The houses are perched on the right bank of the Cherni Iskar river. In the past the native people lived on potato- growing, but in recent years tourism is well developed, too. The climate is mild, the nature is picturesque, and tourists can visit some churches and a monastery. Three chapels situated in the areas “Mechkarnitsa”, “Izvoro” and “Tapankovitsa”, have been also preserved up to the present day.

The resort is a starting point for lots of itineraries to the Rila Mountain- to the peak of Malyovitsa, the Seven Lakes of the Rila Mountain, the Urdini lakes, the Rila Monastery, etc.

2 km southwest of the village is located a tourist station with bungalows supplied with electric current. In the winter surroundings of the village offer excellent conditions for ski – sports.
